Was into Mogwai from the beginning with the pivotal Ten Rapid and 4 Satin, but the last Mogwai LP I bought was Mr Beast in 2006, so plenty new to me here, and lots of catching up to do! On 2018 Live, the last 4 tracks are where I'm at, I just love all of that feedback and distortion. From my collection of their first decade, the epic 20 minute My Father My King is my all time favourite - I have no idea if their releases after 2006 have yielded anything comparable... only one way to find out!... Conjurer is a special band. I can't put my finger on it, but I love everything this band does and Mire is my favorite album from them. It is one of my favorite albums of all time. Conjurer's songs are so musically dynamic, alternating tempo, harmonies, growls/screams. It is terrific. I love their use of major harmonies as well. I can't play this album while I do anything else because it keeps pulling my attention back to the music, and I hear something new on each listen. bwill05

Pure cosmic post rock indulgence. Music that's so awe-inspiring and desolate at the same time that you feel like you're in a sci-fi movie set on the other side of the galaxy. The perfect mix of crashing heavy riffs and beautiful, peaceful moments of calm. Standout moments are the gorgeous intro to Pig Powder, the headbang-worthy breakdown of the title track and I can't not mention the last 90 seconds of Finem Solis, which for something so simple, I just can't find words to describe. djentstorm
